Perform highly diversified duties to maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment. • Provide emergency /unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service • Perform simple/complex machinist duties and responsibilities • Perform basic mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of machine shop machines • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. • Perform routine/preventive maintenance on machines and equipment • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. • Perform all other duties as assigned. • Maintain electronic records on all maintenance and repairs to machines and facility. • Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns.
Position Requirement • Mechanical aptitude- ability to understand basic mechanical concepts and relationships • Knowledge of safe shop operation practices • Positive work ethic and attitude; willingness to learn and meet expectations of the various maintenance assignments • Dependability; demonstrate and maintain good attendance and punctuality • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions • Must be able to work flexible hours and be on call as needed for emergencies. • Basic Mechanical, Welding, Machining • Must be able to read/interpret blueprints • Must be able to use mic’s, calipers, dial gauges, height gauges, pin gauges, etc. • Ability to program CNC milling machines
Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution • Must possess a valid Driver’s License • Education and/or work experience requirements: o Certified Machinist with 2 or more years of experience in one of the following trades: Machinist / Tool and Die maker • Ability to operate all machine shop equipment • Review drawings, blueprints, or samples to ensure accuracy • Precise measuring ability • Ability to identify the need for machine maintenance and perform minor repairs • Maintain safe/Clean work area • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform repetitive tasks • Ability to operate motorized equipment including but not limited to scissor lift, boom lift, forklifts, etc. • Must be able to supply basic personal tools (Tool list will be provided)
Preferred Qualifications: • Proficient in a trade listed above while able to perform at least two other complementary skills to a satisfactory degree • Prior experience in troubleshooting and problem solving in a manufacturing or industrial environment • Knowledge of CNC programming • Experience working with the following: Lathe, Milling Machine, grinders, Polishers, saws, etc. Working Conditions:
Physical working conditions: Wear safety attire or proper PPE daily o Usually work indoors. All areas may not be temperature controlled o Are often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels o Are exposed to hazardous equipment on a weekly basis o Are sometimes exposed to contaminants • Work may require occasional weekend work.
Physical demands of the position include: Bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, squatting, kneeling/crawling, climbing/balance (e.g. stairs, ladders, catwalks, mobile equipment), reaching at, above, and below the shoulder level, flex/extend neck, grasping, squeezing, manual dexterity (gross and fine motor), sitting , walking and standing for a long period of time. Handling and lifting of parts or materials – minimum of 50 lbs. lifting/carrying, and 75 ft.-lbs. pushing/pulling is required.
