1st Shift Welding Technician

What you will Do

Essential Functions (Responsibilities): These duties are not all-inclusive and may change over time.

  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Perform a variety of operations involving stainless steel welding, buffing, and polishing
  • Facilitates the fusing of production materials, including the welding of stainless steel
  • Weld both vertical and horizontal plane geometry
  • Check and ensure the quality of all welds by using and maintaining the proper equipment for each weld
  • Examine work pieces for defects
  • Measure work pieces with straightedge, tape measure, or template to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Adhere to ISO and quality regulations/standards
  • Perform manufacturing and repair work on various parts
  • Work with and support the production, sheet metal, and maintenance teams as needed
  • Must perform work in required cycle time
  • Physical demands of the position include: Frequent handling and lifting of parts and equipment; constant reaching at waist level; frequent sitting, standing, reaching overhead, bending, pushing/pulling, grasping, pinching, and neck flexion; occasional walking, reaching at shoulder level, reaching at knee and floor level, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs/ladders, pivoting, twisting, fine motor dexterity, neck extension/rotation, and shoulder circumduction.  Handling, lifting, and carrying parts/equipment – minimum of 59 lbs. lifting/carrying and 20 lbf pushing/pulling.
  • Ability to work with parts which may be hot and/or wet.

Ability to work in loud/noisy environment

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Physical demands of the position include: Frequent handling and lifting of parts and equipment; constant reaching at waist level; frequent sitting, standing, reaching overhead, bending, pushing/pulling, grasping, pinching, and neck flexion; occasional walking, reaching at shoulder level, reaching at knee and floor level, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs/ladders, pivoting, twisting, fine motor dexterity, neck extension/rotation, and shoulder circumduction.  Handling, lifting, and carrying parts/equipment – minimum of 59 lbs. lifting/carrying and 20 lbf pushing/pulling.
  • Ability to work with parts which may be hot and/or wet.
  • Ability to work in loud/noisy environment.
  • Must first pass welding evaluation & basic skills testing before reaching the interview stage
