Description
Provide essential interpretation support to both candidates and new hires who speak Swahili and/or Kinyarwanda
Conducting interview(s) and working with candidates on all pre-employment activities
Answer questions and provide critical information ahead of and during orientation
Conduct orientation sessions and separate benefit sessions for new hires
Be onsite/on call during 2nd shift and some 3rd shift hours to assist HR team with questions, training and other issue resolution as needed
Handle a high volume of candidate inquiries daily
Answer phones and talk to candidates, answer questions and resolve issues.
Schedule and re-schedule appointments for interviews, or other pre-employment screenings.
Greet candidates who drop by the Recruiting office and answer questions and/or give directions to the Visitor Center or other buildings.
Place outbound calls to candidates who have not responded to email inquiries.
Facilitate pre-employment activities for candidates
Create and send offer letters.
Request drug screen, background check and medical appointments; check on progress made toward completion.
Create and send candidate pre-employment communications.
Engage new hires in Orientation activities
Attend and lead twice weekly orientation sessions to complete I-9 and e-Verify processes ensuring compliance measures are met.
Greet new hires who drop by the Recruiting office to complete their I-9 (if not done during orientation).
Manage the referral process and hiring bonus processes, ensuring timely submission of payments.
Assist with other projects and daily activities as requested.
Required Qualifications:
Must be fluent in English, Swahili and Kinyarwanda
Ability to be flexible with work hours – primarily working 2nd shift with some 3rd shift support needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; Must be enthusiastic about answering candidate questions daily – both on the phone and in person.
Proven organizational skills; ability to multi-task and handle many different responsibilities each day.
Must be self-motivated and can self-direct daily work to meet goals and deadlines.
Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fluency in French strongly preferred
Current or prior experience working in GE Appliances’ production group strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree and/or enrollment in Bachelor’s program strongly preferred
