The Challenge

The Senior Material Change Analyst is a Bill of Materials (BOM) Specialist responsible for implementing new parts and part changes in Oracle. This role is also responsible for working with the warehouse team to establish and update packaging BOM’s as needed. To be successful, this role will need to work proactively with Service Execution Leaders, Material Planners, Fulfillment planners, and warehouse teams to ensure clear, accurate, and early signals throughout our service parts supply chain. In addition, this position will support in managing a select group of suppliers as a material planner.

What you will Do

  • Review Business Change Notices (BCNs) for new parts or part changes to be setup in Oracle.
  • Setup items for parts not on a BCN.
  • Initiate item setup and assignment to the correct Organization.
  • Utilize Product Information Management (PIM) templates for part setup and changes.
  • Create new Bill of Materials (BOMs) and make changes as required.
  • Update BOM per BCN for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and mass changes.
  • Provide insight to drive process improvement through supersedure process.
  • Create SOP around establishing effectivity dates and tying our change process to ECOs.
  • Review make/buy report for parts that are not setup properly and address discrepancies and escalate to other teams as required.
  • Update long descriptions in PIM as needed to support warehouse packaging project needs and requirements.
  • Attend Change Implementation Boards (CIBs) to review projects and changes to the plant.
  • Track part changes and maintain them in an Excel spreadsheet.
  • Inform Sourcing team of needed Blanket Purchasing Agreement (BPAs) and Approved Supplier Lists (ASLs).
  • Notify fulfillment planners when new parts are set up and ready for lead time and order settings to be input.
  • Help provide insight to the warehouse on routings, packaging needs, and system setups to support automation projects.
  • Manage subset of direct material suppliers.
  • Collaborate with material planning team on long term priorities and process improvement.
  • Drive process improvement of both part setup/creation as well as supersedure process.

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years combined experience in manufacturing, design, or materials.
  • Ability to influence and drive change in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong familiarity with Oracle EBS.
  • Experience supporting NPI and NMM launches.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years materials experience – specifically working with Oracle.
  • Proven attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Previous Materials team experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots.
