Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

The Challenge

Part of a team that conducts the qualification and ongoing evaluation of suppliers: selection, onboarding, evaluation, certification, and elimination. Work with suppliers to design, develop, test, and evaluate manufacturing equipment for manufacturing processes. Part Qualification, including the 9-step process, Lean/Six Sigma tools, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process. Work with others to understand and abate issues for New Product Introduction and engineering changes. Plan and establish sequence of operations to determine system performance, reliability, or quality. Support design change projects, supplier moves, process changes, and material changes. As part of a team, analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives for supplier performance and value for the business. Confer with clients and suppliers to develop robust quality control plans and implement sustainable corrective actions to enable permanent resolution of issues and reduce costs across the assigned supplier base.

What you will Do

Position requires Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor’s degree related experience. The position also requires 3 years of experience driving quality improvements for suppliers using quality methodologies, including 8D; 2 years of new product qualification experience using first article inspections and PPAP processes; 2 years of experience performing root cause analysis for quality inspection; 1 year of auditing experience to verify and validate quality control documentation; and 1 year of experience working with metal stamping or processing suppliers.
