The Challenge

This position is a part of the Information Technology (Digital Technology or "DT") team supporting the Proficy MES (Manufacturing Execution System) platform and Manufacturing business teams. You will help define and execute on functional and technical requirements, users stories, test cases, etc. and model our manufacturing factories and FIS (Factory Information System) / MES related systems, part traceability (genealogy), constraint analysis, and process monitoring to provide information key business metrics driving actions in a LEAN manufacturing environment.

What you will Do

• Enable support for the overall strategy for the FIS and IT systems for operations

• Support FIS and IT system needs for ERP which would include implementing standard and consistent practices

• Write and coordinate features and user stories in an Agile development environment

• Coordinate the configuring and programming automation and controls systems involving HMI (Human Machine Interface), MMI (Man-Machine Interface), or SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems with equipment suppliers

• Work with other FIS analysts and DT Site Managers across the local and all plants implementing all MES/FIS hardware required to meet the needs of Operations

• Work with other FIS analyst, DT Site Managers, and functional SME’s to identify, define, and create the needed production critical variables & quality process variables to be monitored

• Ability to analyze factory data and Key Performance Indicators  (KPIs)

• Ability to validate data flow and data integrity with accuracy and updating or fixing as needed

• For smaller enhancements and setups, interface with end-users to document functional requirements and work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Provide input to your peers of FIS analysts and DT Site Managers and help provide provide detailed scoping (functional specs, technical specs, costs, schedules, etc.) for FIS projects and successfully execute on them through completion, validation, and customer signoff

• Provide detailed documentation upon project completion to ensure systems are supportable and ensure successful transition to longer term operations support

• Support (provide training, resolve issues, and develop system enhancements) for existing factory information systems

• Interface within the FIS team and other central DT teams to ensure standard practices are adhered to and ensure compliance concerns are escalated appropriately

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience with a minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience

• Must be end-user focused and customer-service oriented

• Ability to train and work with end users with a variety of levels of computer experience and ability

• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate

• Project Management skills for issue tracking and resolution

• High initiative self-starter, results and schedule oriented

• Able to work and interact effectively with multifunctional/multicultural teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or technical discipline preferred
• Experience with continuous improvement to manufacturing business processes with specific experience on Factory Information Systems projects or Equipment Control systems in all phases of the development cycle
• Knowledge of HMI, or SCADA logic and programming with any of the following software packages: GE Cimplicity, Rockwell / Allen Bradley, Siemens etc
• Some experience in a manufacturing plant environment
• Controls experience interfacing hardware and software to support factory floor systems, includes PLCs, PCs, bar code scanners, vision systems, RFID and label printers
• Exposure with GE SCADA software and PLCs
• Exposure and basic knowledge of LEAN manufacturing concepts
• Experience in an Agile Development environment
