The Enterprise Asset Management Commodity Buyer has total ownership for the assigned spend. Responsibilities include managing internal/external relationships with key stakeholders, defining and implementing commodity and supplier strategies across all GEA manufacturing and distribution sites and driving cost out. This person will serve as the subject matter expert for the commodity and lead the execution of go to market strategies, negotiations, vendor transitions, procurement process improvements and partnerships with Global Purchasing Organizations. The Commodity Buyer collaborates internally with the Crib Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Sourcing Leaders.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  • Develop, drive and execute international Sourcing strategy for M&S Crib and M&R Service Spend, analyze global markets, and management of supply base.
  • Manage supplier relationships in all aspects including commercial and supply chain management, NPI support, root-cause analysis of issues, problem resolution, and improving supplier manufacturing process.
  • Work effectively cross-functionally to develop and execute Sourcing strategies to deliver against Cost Take Out, Quality, Delivery, Cash goals.
  • Align with internal stake holders to increase min/max planned purchases while decreasing descriptive based purchases.
  • Execute to spend against contract and spend under management metrics.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to improve part setup process and reduce description based purchases.
  • Drive project identification, resource allocation and execution across categories.
  • Lead strategic negotiations and review all agreements prior to execution.
  • Leverage key supplier relationships to resolve major supply issues at all sites.
  • Introduce supplier innovation whenever possible to improve GE's costs and features.
  • Align with Capital Equipment team on new installations; proactively identify future EAM/Crib needs and correspondingly define a Sourcing strategy.
  • Head up cross functional teams including Facilities Engineering, AMEs, CapEx Sourcing to identify and implement utility efficiency projects.
  • Co-Develop and implement category business plan for M&R across production sites.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5 years of relevant experience within supply chain, program management, commodity management or in a related role involving negotiating, identifying opportunities, selecting suppliers and/or implementing contracts.
  • Ability to negotiate and execute contracts. Understanding of concepts and values of strategic sourcing, contract management and project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and allocate time to accomplish goals of the project and team. Uphold high ethical standards and ensure compliance with procedures, regulations and laws.
  • Savvy business acumen with excellent executive presence, presentation and facilitation skills; can effectively interact with and influence all levels of the organization and Suppliers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
  • Can identify and resolve complex technical, operational and organizational problems.
  • Enthusiastic can-do attitude, high energy level, and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to question and challenge assumptions, interrogating existing practices to drive improvement; ability to observe existing business practice, to inform new practices and refine.
  • MS Excel and database expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, supply chain or related field.
· Lean Six Sigma and/or PMP certification.
· Exceptional functional knowledge within GEA or a related manufacturing-focused business, ideally gained through roles requiring cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Technology, Product Line teams, Supplier Quality, etc.
· Experience supporting a Product Line and/or New Product Introduction (NPI) at GEA or a related new business initiative.
· Prior experience in Supplier Diversity, planning and participating in outreach events, and interface with SBA’s, NMSDC and WBENC.
Working Conditions:
· Up to 10% travel required for domestic travel to affiliate sites and suppliers.
