Sr Service Diagnostics Systems Engineer

The Challenge

The service diagnostics systems engineer will work cross-functionally with the product line systems team, embedded software team, manufacturing, and service organizations to specify and champion implementation of diagnostic features in support of the DFS (Duct Free Split) product line. Service diagnostics technology will be leveraged to enhance the consumer ownership experience, improve service efficiency, improve manufacturability and support future product design.

What you will Do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, develop, and implement diagnostic data algorithms for the product platform, including both connected, and non-connected product use cases.

  • Lead cross-functional effort to define diagnostic data requirements (Fault-Codes, Operational History, and Usage Profile Data) for the product platform.

  • Primary ownership for Software Diagnostic Tolls specifications in assigned product lines.

  • Support Quality (COQ) teams in analytics activities to root cause field failures by leveraging available diagnostics data.

  • Research and develop algorithms to predict and/or detect top Service Call Rate drivers as defined by the service/COQ organizations.

  • Support data science team as a systems data expert to facilitate execution of machine learning projects.

What you need to Succeed

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Working knowledge of sealed system/ HVAC design.

  • Minimum 7 years design/systems experience in an appliance or automotive industry.

  • Strong project planning and project leadership skills and experience.

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a global team-oriented environment.

  • Demonstrated initiative, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
     

Desired Characteristics:

  • Prior GEA NPI process experience.

  • Working knowledge of the service process and serviceability of appliances.

  • Strong desire to learn new skills in data analytics domain.

  • Experience using SAS platform for data mining and analysis.
