The Challenge

This role will be responsible for Commodity Business Plan/Strategy for Semiconductor sourcing and year over year cost reductions within the Electronics Sourcing team. This role will report directly to the Director of the Electronics Sourcing Team.

What you will Do

The person in this role should have significant experience and knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing process and key manufacturers.   As the Sr. Commodity Manager, you will drive supplier performance relative to cost, quality, delivery, and be responsible for strategic alignment with key stakeholders (Business Unit Leaders, Quality and Technology.)

This position will be accountable for developing the commodity business plan for key semiconductors.  And as the Sr. Commodity Manager will mentor and guide team members in the management of the semiconductor supply chain.

  • Creating relationship frameworks/contracts with semiconductor manufacturers

  • Define long term sourcing strategy for semiconductors, including defining strategic suppliers and dual sourcing

  • Capacity planning with key semiconductor manufacturers

  • Developing and monitoring effective supplier evaluation criteria

  • Maintaining quarterly supplier business unit reviews

  • Annual cost reduction negotiations

  • New Product Introduction sourcing strategy and execution

  • Collaborating with the engineering team to align on long term technical goals and incorporation of technology roadmaps into the category strategy/commodity business plan

  • Ensuring continuous supply to GE Appliances

What you need to Succeed


  • Seven years of experience in procurement of electronics components/or semiconductors

  • Technical expertise within semiconductor manufacturing and market

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related fields

  • Contract management and negotiations skills

  • Experience in working with multi-cultural teams

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
