The Challenge

We are looking for an Associate Financial Analyst to join our GE Appliances Finance team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to get exposure to and support various finance and operational stakeholders throughout the business on behalf of the Shared Services (AP/AR) organization, by way of, for example: fielding inquiries related to AP/AR processes & systems, preparing month-end closing analyses, journal entries, and reconciliations, maintaining ownership over key activities related to our remaining ERP system cutover & associated day-to-day go forward processes, and providing internal & external financial audit support, along with the rest of our team. This is a fast-paced role and an early career position with the opportunity to grow within the Finance Organization.

What you will Do

  • Provide daily support to functional team members in various process improvement projects aimed toward improving overall past due payables & receivables performance and developing cross-functional synergies across the organization, to support other short and long-term business objectives (30%)
  • Own preparing various monthly closing journal entries and reconciliations, to ensure overall seamless financial close process (20%)
  • Soundly support overall migration of remaining AP & AR activities from our legacy system to our new Oracle ERP system, including serving as the go forward Finance lead and liaison with the Digital Technology Operations team on new miscellaneous billing and other such required activity setups, through administering a standardized request process (15%)
  • Assist with functional financial audit requests, both internal and external, while exemplifying both a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail (15%)
  • Support the Shared Services Accounting Manager in a broad range of activities, as needed, including general ad-hoc AP/AR requests and deep-dives (10%)
  • Utilize process improvement skills to help to simplify and improve accuracy and overall flow of monthly/quarterly closing, forecasting, and reporting activities (10%)

What you need to Succeed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or another related field or minimum of 3+ years of work experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable or accounting/financial services
  • Accountable self-starter who consistently leverages strong sense of initiative and problem-solving skills to identify and implement effective business solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency using MS Office suite applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Oracle EBS R12 experience, particularly AP and/or AR modules, and Oracle BI/reporting tools
