The Challenge

The Director for DT Infrastructure Operations will be responsible for driving infrastructure operational excellence by ensuring the MSP/ MSSP delivers on all SLAs, GEA datacenters are maintained, and business operations are not interrupted due to an infrastructure failure. This leader will also be responsible for delivering excellent end user services – help desk operations, PC deployment and executive support. In the event of a business outage, this leader is responsible for helping to drive the issue to resolution and remediating root cause.

What you will Do

  • Provide leadership and oversight to GE Appliances infrastructure operations.
  • Drive infrastructure operational excellence by ensuring managed service partners execute defined SOPs and adhere to contractual SLAs.
  • Manage DT Infrastructure operations budget and identify opportunities to control costs without sacrificing the quality of service.
  • Provide oversight to data center operations including facilities management. Develop plans to maintain data center maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Provide direction to MSSP and ensure security SOPs are kept up to date to protect the business from the latest security threats.
  • Direct PC depot and help desk processes/procedures in a manner that delivers issue resolution in a timely manner producing a positive end-user experience.
  • Identify inefficient infrastructure operational procedures and implement the appropriate remediations.
  • Provide oversight to all end-user help desks and innovate the end-user experience.
  • Drive timely resolution to issues that impact business operations, determine root cause and implement remediations to prevent the issue from reoccurring.
  • Provide a monthly update detailing the status of DT Infrastructure operations.
  • Partner with the DT Governance and Security teams to ensure the correct infrastructure policies are in place to prevent GEA from cyber threats. Provide outstanding team leadership
  • Serve as mentor and coach to team members and provide inclusive leadership:
  • Develop team members through training and development opportunities.
  • Partner with other DT Leaders to ensure the success of DT initiatives and provide input into infrastructure strategy.

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree of Engineering in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of overall digital technology operations and cybersecurity experience.
  • 5 years of overall multi-generational compute and storage experience
  • Experience with network operations for a multi-site company
  • Leadership skills that can inspire employees and contractors.
  • Self-motivated individual who is well-organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years’ experience leading a global data & analytics or related team(s) with experience operating at a senior manager-level.
  • Experience/certification in Six Sigma/Lean, Value Stream Mapping and Visualization tools.
  • Experience design networks for a multi-site company
