The Challenge

The Director, Product Management will lead GEA’s Freezer, Compact, and Wine & Beverage product categories with responsibility for product strategy and End to End commercial, operational, and financial performance.

What you will Do

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for the Freezer/Compact/Wine & Bev categories. Develop multi-generation product and advanced development plans.
  • Work with Marketing, Brand, and Consumer Insights teams to develop differentiated brand strategies and market leading products in the Monogram, Café, GE/GE Profile, Hotpoint, and Haier brands.
  • Work with Refrigeration Technology team to scope, fund, and staff new product development programs. Provide leadership and input to active NPI programs.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing teams to develop distribution strategies, plan and execute customer product line reviews (PLRs), and ensure commercial execution and performance of Freezer/Compact/Wine & Bev products.
  • Work with Sourcing to develop supplier strategies and relationships and ensure competitive product features, performance, quality and cost.
  • Develop and coordinate a comprehensive investment strategy for the Freezer/Compact/Wine & Bev categories. Present strategy and secure funding through annual Long Term Planning, SII, and Operating plan processes.
  • Lead cross-functional Freezer/Compact/Wine & Bev Product Council, ensuring effective flowdown of Hoshin objectives and proper balance between functional and End to End business goals.
  • Own responsibility for meeting inventory commitments. Participate in weekly Production, Scheduling, and Inventory (PSI) meetings. Work with suppliers and Marketing and Sales teams to optimize inventory pipeline, resolve availability issues, and execute inventory clearance actions where necessary to maintain target inventory levels.

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited university or college; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of Product Management, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and/or Technology experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in building and managing supplier relationships to deliver world-class product cost and quality
  • Demonstrated experience in cross functional and leadership level communications
  • Experience in NPI commercialization; knowledgeable of NPI process
  • Demonstrated strength in cross functional and leadership level communications
  • Must be willing and able to travel to GE, Supplier & Customer sites as needed, including significant international travel.

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA preferred
  • Cross-functional leadership experience, particularly in commercial roles
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean certification
  • Previous experience in Appliances or a consumer products business
  • Previous experience with Sourced Finished Goods products
  • Results oriented: proven ability to deliver on commitments and follow through with strong influencing skills
