The Challenge

The Controller works under the direction of the Director Finance. The person is responsible for directing an organization's accounting functions. These functions include establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.

What you will Do

  • Manage income tax accounting, cash management, treasury, accounts payable indirect/direct, enterprises standards, warranty and out of warranty accounting and daily cash reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with GE Appliances policies, statutory & regulatory requirements, tax and treasury compliance.
  • Ensure that controllership is maintained and policies, procedures  are  developed  and  enforced.
  • Responsible for statutory and corporate reporting. 
  • Manage month end accounting, quarter close, year-end close and  audits  (internal  and  external)  under  US  GAAP  and  statutory  reporting.
  • Manage sustainable account  reconciliation  process  including  reconciliation  of  intercompany  balances other GE  businesses.
  • Drive and monitor controllership activities including account reconciliations, letter of representation, and simplification projects.
  • Liaison with General Accounting and the office of the controller in headquarters.

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor Degree in finance or accounting.

•5-6+ years of experience in finance or accounting.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•Ability  to  grasp  operational concepts  and  assess  financial  impact  of  operational  decisions

•Demonstrated  ability  to  manage  several  tasks  simultaneously  and  promote  teamwork, accountability  and  controllership.

•Self-motivated individual who is able to operate independently.

•Ability to interact with different levels in the organization.

•Self-confidence to drive change and make tough decisions.

•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

•Excellent PC skills 

•Customer oriented

•Fully Bilingual – English & Spanish

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • CPA
  • Green Belt Certified
