Sr. Commodity Manager - EMD Motors

The Challenge

This role will be responsible for Commodity Business Plan/Strategy sourcing and year over year cost reductions within the Electromechanical Device (EMD) Sourcing team. You will drive supplier performance relative to cost, quality, delivery, and be responsible for strategic alignment with key stakeholders (Business Unit Leaders, Quality and Technology).

What you will Do

You will be accountable for developing the commodity business plan for Large Motors, Pumps, and Valves managing total spend of $105 Million.  As the Sr. Commodity Manager will mentor and guide team members in the management of the Motor supply chain and:
  • Define long term sourcing strategy for Motors, Pumps, and Valves, including defining strategic suppliers and dual sourcing
  • Capacity planning with key manufacturers
  • Developing and monitoring effective supplier evaluation criteria
  • Maintaining quarterly supplier business unit reviews
  • Annual cost reduction negotiations
  • New Product Introduction sourcing strategy and execution
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to align on long term technical goals and incorporation of technology roadmaps into the category strategy/commodity business plan
  • Ensuring continuous supply to GE Appliances

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in procurement of motors or similar devices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, 10%
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of value stream mapping
  • Leading data driven negotiations
  • Contract management and negotiations skills
  • Experience in working with multi-cultural teams
