The Challenge

Provide effective leadership and expertise to the refrigeration assembly and support ops on second shift. Managing multiple teams to promote the achievement of all goals in EHS, Safety, Quality, Production, Delivery and Cost and Machine and Material Efficiency.

What you will Do


  • Own key operational metrics, including safety, quality, cost, delivery and investment in Appliance Park and support across all appliances operations. 

  • Support and drive new product line implementations while driving metric achievement. 

  • Promote safety and ensure teams compliance with all safety and environmental rules, policies and procedures.  

  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity and of quality for all production procedures. 

  • Ensure fair and consistent union relations within the organization. 

  • Support development of team oriented approaches to problem solving. 

  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization to motivate for results. 

  • Own all aspects of OEE (equipment availability, efficiency, scrap). 

  • Own TPM program from a production standpoint with support from the Facilities team. 



  • Model, promote, and teach the Appliances Performance System philosophy and drive continuous improvement in the technical process areas.  

  • Drive continuous improvement processes to improve Safety, Quality and Productivity in Plant Operations. 

  • Drive consistency and timely implementation of all Lean activities (AWO, Shingijutsu led workshops, KPO creation, etc). 

  • Lead Lean Culture and employee engagement to ensure all injection molding Operations knows how to utilize manufacturing tools and techniques to improve production processes, maximize employee contributions and drive improvements in product quality and process efficiency and continuous yield improvements. 

  • Leadership to drive training needs met at all levels and drive individual continuous improvement for the team. 



  • Lead a team to provide effective leadership for manufacturing Operations which includes responsibilities in EHS, employee engagement, achieving goals in production, machine and material efficiency, Cost out, and Quality.   

  • Responsible for daily and weekly schedule attainment. Provide technical/troubleshooting expertise to areas as needed to ensure schedule achievement. Responsible for leading the team for the allocation of labor to selected lines and for tracking area labor efficiency. 

  • Generate operating rhythm and drive communication and recognition at all levels in the plant. 

  • Work with Finance to ensure goals match quarterly financial estimates. 

  • Effectively communicate strategy and results to senior leadership. 

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree with technical degree preferred or related fields.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in progressive manufacturing leadership roles. 

  • Minimum 5 years of operations management and planning experience.  

  • Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in manufacturing equipment. 

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a union manufacturing environment. 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Technical or Engineering degree preferred.  

  • Masters preferred.  

  • Program Graduate (OMLP, EEDP). 

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher. 

  • Working knowledge of Toyota Production System: JIT, JIDOKA, and HEIJUNKA. 

  • Experience with tools such as SMED, 5S's, POKA-YOKE, KAN BAN, CHAKU-CHAKU. 

  • Significant experience in implementing Lean process improvements in manufacturing operations.  


Working Conditions: 

  • Working conditions are normal for both an office and manufacturing environment.  

  • Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 25 pounds.  

  • Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots.  

  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
