Senior Health Benefits Analytics Analyst

The Challenge

This position will support GEA’s Health Benefits & Services (HB&S) team in managing all informatics and data aggregation, integration, and analytics. This includes managing multiple vendors to configure, maintain, and continuously optimize the electronic medical record (EMR) and related documentation systems, as well as leading advanced data analytics across multiple service lines, including corporate leave programs, health benefits, onsite primary health, and occupational health programs. In addition, this individual will curate the team’s overall business scorecard and metrics dashboard.

This is an exciting opportunity for an informatics systems and data analytics leader who is self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple projects across matrixed teams and organizations. This position will report to the GE Appliances Global Executive Medical Director.

What you will Do

  • Maintain and enhance Occupational Health Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and related systems
  • Ensure system controllership, maintain access, data privacy requirements, and audits
  • Manage EMR vendor supplier performance, defect identification/ resolution, and process/system enhancements
  • Manage configuration updates, validate, and test software updates; end-user/customer training and satisfaction pulsing; communicate EMR enhancements with stakeholders
  • Support all technical aspects of IT platforms/systems utilized by the Health  Benefits & Services teams (Windchill, Sharepoint sites, IDM distribution groups, WebCenter, etc.)
  • Support Health Benefits & Services teams’ learning management processes across multiple GEA systems
  • Serve as technical and services lead for Health Benefits & Services teams to partner with GEA IT, GEA VMO, and Infosys
  • Create and develop essential data analytics and reporting packages across all Health Benefits & Services teams to support strategic healthcare objectives and decision making across all GEA sites
  • Collaborate with vendors to aggregate and analyze health and claims data from multiple sources, including TPA, PBM, HIE, EMR(s), etc., to identify health outcomes, cost and productivity trends; deploy advanced data modeling, predictive modeling, and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data; leverage these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes
  • Collaborate with a finance partner to ensure integrity and accuracy of all vendor/partner risk arrangements financial performance
  • Innovate to improve data-driven insights and health cost benchmarking methodologies in order to drive key HB&S strategic goals

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, IT, health informatics or related business field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with electronic medical records and large data sets, including data aggregation, scrubbing, and analytics/modeling, in a healthcare field
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS, and related systems
  • Experience with tools such as Tableau and Qlik for creating data visualizations
  • Expertise in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working across multiple IT systems and large healthcare data sets
  • Proven ability to translate user needs into functional specifications
  • Familiarity with global data privacy standards relevant to maintaining health record systems and global healthcare programs
  • Experience with supplier performance, including contract management
  • Experience with performance measurement via scorecard/audit tools and processes
  • Project management expertise
  • Strategic thinker: strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills; good business acumen; ability to recognize and address systemic issues
  • Credible change agent with demonstrated initiative, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; proven ability to work well with and influence all levels of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, high standard of accuracy, attention to detail, with excellent follow-up skills, manage time and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with global teams: culturally sensitive and able to work effectively across global time zones
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
