The Challenge

The Director, Experiential Marketing will tell the amazing story of GE Appliances in a newly renovated 25,000 square footage public facing space located in Stamford, CT, known as CoCreate. They will be responsible for bringing our story, phenomenal brands and products to life by creating a dynamic environment with fresh programing, engaging experiences and inspiring spaces that will attract, draw and retain new and repeat visitors. Make people fall in love with the space, our products, our brands and our company.
This role will lead the complete strategic commercial alignment, concept development, implementation, and budgeting; creating direct product awareness through digital and physical experience marketing, and other memorable events that foster growth and meaningful journeys for prospects and customers.

What you will Do

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with leadership team to establish and set key metrics / expectations concerning financial performance, new visitors and return visitors, brand experiences, appliance referrals leading to sales, customer events, designer engagements, brand relevant partnerships, designer engagements, etc.
  • CoCreate is the intersection of physical and digital experiential marketing. Employing the latest and greatest innovations in digital storytelling, promotion, social media outreach and webrooming will be paramount.
  • Curate partnerships to co-create eco-systems of brand relevant products, housewares and value exchanges to be experienced and merchandised throughout the kitchen vignettes, retail and food shops and designer resource space.
  • Develop local and national partnerships, vendors, suppliers, community outreach and owner relationships to continuously improve the CoCreate experiences, products and processes.
  • Partner cross functionally with brand, product and sales team to craft and execute experiential marketing and brand events for customers/consumers consistent with GEA’s House of Brands strategies and purpose.
  • Establish budget and staffing needs consistent with business goals and expectations.
  • Responsible for management of: Consumer Experiential Events, Brand Partnerships, Enthusiast Audiences, Owner Communities and Consumer Event Marketing.
  • Co-develop visitor tours and experiences in concert with CoCreate Microfactory/1B director.
  • Develop and execute best-in-class event marketing programs and partnerships that align with brand objectives and achieve business results.
  • Lead social media content planning to drive excitement and traffic.
  • Ensure that all activities develop positive brand imagine and aligned with the GEA House of Brands business goals and objectives.
  • Will regularly interface with the VP Brand & Marketing, Executive Director Small Appliances, CoCreate staff, and key Senior Leadership Team members.

What you need to Succeed


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 10 years of successful Marketing experience developing brand partnerships, influencer marketing programs and executional program/project management
  • Extensive ground up development, management and execution of successful experiential based programs
  • Prior event planning experience
  • Exceptional communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
  • Demonstrated success in influencing with strong negotiation skills
  • Skilled at driving integration – joining people, processes or systems – particularly with brand, digital, PR and marketing
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to thoughtfully and successfully plan and manage budgets
  • Hands on experience with executive management, corporate communications, partners and agencies
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams
  • Ability to act as public spokesperson and subject matter expert on areas of direct responsibility
