The Challenge

We are seeking a Senior Finance Analyst – Commercial FP&A to drive continuous improvement in the Commercial Finance organization through key FP&A analyses and controls. In this role, you will play a vital role on the FP&A team to align the Commercial, Product and Brand teams to drive over $10B in annual sales. This dynamic, visible role provides tremendous growth opportunity with the responsibility to “own” key processes on the Commercial Finance team.

What you will Do

  • Own the bi-weekly QMI (quick market intelligence) process including financial forecast and consolidating Commercial pages.  Forecast scope includes sales and margin for all product lines and all sales channels as well as SG&A and COGS.  QMI combines actuals and variance analysis with future sales projections to project quarterly operating results and identify trends.
  • Own the monthly LDE (last day estimate) process to forecast Commercial P&L month-end a few days before close begins, a key deliverable to our parent company.
  • Lead Commercial monthly closing meetings, including preparation of all preliminary/final reporting and tracking throughout closing process.
  • Own monthly reporting of Commercial results for over $10B annual sales through analysis of industry share, price realization, cost productivity, and mix metrics across multiple channels and product lines.  Publish the PVM, a key report explaining drivers of sales and margin through price, volume, and mix.
  • Support budget and forecasting cycles by developing industry assumptions, publishing PVMs, and leading data analysis.
  • Serve as finance owner for commissions and Commercial STI (short term incentive), including forecasting, analysis, and audit.
  • Provide support to operating/finance team on key initiatives/ad hoc reporting.
  • Champion process improvement including reporting simplification and automation.
  • Become a super user for sales/margin reporting systems including OBIEE, Hyperion, and OBIA.
  • Train new members on finished good sales/margin reporting tools.
  • Help to manage the relationship between IT & Finance.
  • Help Commercial FP&A and broader Commercial finance team transition to the new sales/margin reporting system.
  • Cover for the Commercial FP&A director as needed.

What you need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum 5 years Finance or relevant experience
  • Must be able to clearly communicate results while providing useful analytics
  • Strong analytical skillset / ability to triangulate data from multiple data sources
  • Cross functional coordination & influencing skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Results oriented, motivated leader, change agent
  • Strong systems skills, i.e. Excel, Oracle, Hyperion
