The Challenge

The Software Quality Team Lead will be responsible for guiding the embedded software testing performed on Refrigeration product lines. The role will ensure that all software implementations are fully verified and validated against the requirements and that all results are documented and communicated to the software team. The role will be a consumer advocate for the product line and ensure all software performs as designed to promote an excellent owner experience. The role will also be responsible for assisting in the designing and maintenance of test system hardware as well as the development of software solutions for automated regression testing. The position is based in Louisville, KY.

What you will Do

  • Manage team of global resources to meet changing project schedules
  • Onboard and train new team members
  • Assist with the design of Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) Load Boxes
  • Develop automation scripts for regression testing using LabVIEW and TestStand
  • Assist with development of large-scale LabVIEW applications to control data acquisition hardware and communicate with appliances over a communication bus
  • Review test plans, automation sequences, and LabVIEW code changes made by team members
  • Communicate test results and coverage vs requirements to Software Team and Management
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings such as daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and/or retrospectives, as necessary
  • Some travel may be required (less than 10%) to domestic and international locations including, but not limited to Decatur, AL, Selmer, TN, and Hyderabad, India.

What you need to Succeed


  • BS in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing embedded controls.
  • Strong LabView and TestStand background.
  • Good understanding of firmware/software development processes.
  • Demonstrated project planning and project leadership skills and experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements during the development process

Preferred Characteristics

  • Team leadership experience
  • Hardware-in-the-loop Testing Experience
  • Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or better
  • Certified TestStand Developer (CTD) or better
  • Experience with National Instruments hardware including Compact DAQ
  • Project management experience
