The Challenge

Manages the total cost, relationship, and commodity and supplier strategies for Information Technology (“IT”). Guides the IT function through vendor sourcing, contracting, and manages on-going monitoring process to ensure compliance with GEA and external regulatory requirements. Serves as a subject matter expert in the commodity, including the technology, materials, negotiation, market, and competition. Drives the execution of the commodity strategy for products and programs. The Senior Commodity Buyer works in tandem with IT and business specialists to establish contractual relationships and manage vendor relationships.

What you will Do

Essential Duties

  • Develops processes in collaboration with the sourcing function by which vendors are evaluated and selected in accordance with company policies
  • Coordinates and maintains contracts and other legal agreements for the department
  • Identifies cost savings opportunities resulting from IT Sourcing activities
  • Executes performance monitoring on vendors
  • Acts upon gathered performance data and provides quarterly feedback to IT Leadership and business partners to ensure quality
  • Establishes SLA and metrics dashboard including quality measurements
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates internal and external Service Level Agreements to identify areas of improvement

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience within IT, Sourcing, program management, commodity management or in a related role involving negotiating, identifying opportunities, selecting suppliers and/or implementing contracts
  • Solid track record of project leadership and execution with significant and impactful results 
  • Ability to work with autonomously, as well as with global cross-functional teams, business leaders, vendors, and maintain relationship with user community
  • Understanding of data privacy laws and enforcement technologies
  • Understanding of lifecycle for enterprise applications and Software Development Life Cycle processes, as well as software and software as a service business models
  • Demonstrates understanding of vendor management process including agreement negotiations and vendor performance monitoring
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
  • Exceptional communication skills and demonstrates ability to effectively influence
  • Strong vendor management, negotiating, influencing, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen, possess strong analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong team player that collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
  • Professional oral/written communication
  • Proven strong problem solving and collaborative skills to develop and implement business strategies cross-functionally and globally
  • Demonstrated team player with a strong initiative to win
  • Change agent with excellent facilitative leadership and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Business
  • 2 years of functional Sourcing experience preferred, with purchasing experience and advanced knowledge specifically in Information Technology
  • Working knowledge of Sourcing Systems and processes
  • Familiarity with Legal terminology and risk mitigation
  • ITIL Certification
  • SOX/PCI experience

Working Conditions:

  • Up to 10% travel required for domestic and/or international travel to affiliate sites and suppliers.
