The Challenge

The Communications Videographer produces stories in video form for internal and external use. This person manages the company’s video studio, heads up video production, produces videos for the corporate communications team, and uploads videos to the digital image library.

As member of GE Appliances' communications team, this role will contribute to brand, employee and citizenship communications projects; including special events and crisis management.

What you will Do

  • Act as the company’s video communications expert supporting thought-leadership programs, press conferences, internal and external presentations, and trade shows. 

  • Shoot and edit long and short form stories for use on the company’s social media channels and corporate website. 

  • Produce b-roll asset packages for media announcements. 

  • Curate and produce creative multimedia stories for internal and external use intended for traditional and digital platforms. This will entail regular interaction with senior level leaders and broad cross-functional interaction/partnerships.  This role works with the brand, corporate and employee communications teams as well as the corporate citizenship group, the social media team, Human Resources, Digital Technology, product teams, and the Supply Chain platform. 

  • Manage company’s video production and visual communications activities, which includes coordinating freelance suppliers when needed to execute videos.  This role needs strong project management skills to secure suppliers, coordination production to ensure quality, meet deadlines and manage video production budget. 

  • Catalog resources in searchable digital files. 

  • Coordinate production for key internal and external presentations and develop digital assets (I.e. infographics, GIFS, videos) for internal and external use. 

  • Live stream press conferences, significant internal business announcements and media events. 

  • Have a Drone license 

What you need to Succeed


  • 5+ years of video experience, including experience working as a multimedia journalist, video production, editing and photography. 

  • Demonstrated multimedia content development. 

  • Experience working with third parties and managing vendors. 

  • Fluency with social marketing and content strategy and planning for digital platforms 

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. 

  • Proven relationship builder both within the organization and with external partners. 

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and change. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to produce a high volume of video assets to meet the content needs of the communications team. 

  • Comfortable with same-day turns for shooting and editing videos to completion. 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in TV newsrooms or in companies with extensive audiovisual production.
