The Challenge

The Corporate Operations Communications Senior Manager will drive strategic communications for the GE Appliances Supply Chain team. This position will work closely with the leadership team on internal and external communication plans to continue building the company’s reputation, achieve business goals, engage with thought leaders and key stakeholders around the country, reinforcing the GEA’s zero distance philosophy and commitment to U.S. manufacturing and continue to grow and cultivate a highly engaged workplace culture with equity, inclusion, and diversity at the core.

What you will Do

  • Design and execute Supply Chain and Manufacturing focused communications plans. 

  • Explore and improve tools and channels to better reach the production workforce 

  • Enable executives and plant leaders to connect and engage with production associates to build business understanding and establish on-going constructive dialogue.  

  • Develop communications tools and resources to enable and empower plant managers and other manufacturing leaders to effectively communicate externally with key stakeholders 

  • Build and nurture a strong relationship with key media outlets in the states where we have manufacturing or logistic centers  

  • Develop compelling content relevant to the production workforce Provide leadership and counsel for internal and external communications related to issues management in the plants (re-organizations, labor relations, change communications, crisis communications, safety or security concerns, etc.) 

  • Lead or co-lead investment announcements  

  • Develop Supply Chain content for GEA internal and external owned media (GEA Connect, Corporate Website, Social media channels, Newsletters, etc.)  

What you need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations or related field. 

  •  7+ years of experience working in a Public Relations or Organizational Communications role.  

  • Strategic communicator with experience driving change communications in a medium-to-large organization. 

  • Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.  

  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask. 

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and execute flawlessly in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships. 

  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and with all levels of the organization. 

  • Strong executive presence with solid business understanding to provide consulting, influencing and writing for senior leaders 

  • Experience planning events.

  • Some travel will be required. 

  • Experience working in supply chain or a plant environment 

  • Expertise communicating in a union environment
