The Challenge

GE Appliances’ Senior Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for all outside sales activities within assigned Retail Independent Dealers and National Accounts in the Ft Worth and north Texas area. The territory covers all of Ft Worth as well as parts of north Texas, north of the DFW metro area. Candidate will manage the frontend to backend sales experience from executing floor merchandising, sales training and pricing/promotional strategies; managing distribution and fulfillment; regularly meeting with business stakeholders, key decision makers and sales associates. As well, handling customer service aspects of the business.

Job Description

  • The position is located in the DFW area, more specifically Ft Worth and North Texas.
  • Selling and promoting appliances to new and existing retail appliance customers, to include national accounts and independent dealers.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and developing marketing strategies to grow the territory.
  • Executing and delivering on sales and margin operating plans.
  • Developing and executing merchandising/promotional strategies and programming within each account to drive sell-through and account profitability.
  • Quantitative sales expertise, ability to run ROI reports, calculate margin and delta scenarios.
  • Preparing presentations and developing sales materials to lead product sales training for customers.
  • Creating a variety of status reports including activity, follow-up and adherence to goals.
  • Resolving customer issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Traveling to customers within territory.
  • Relocation assistance available.

What you need to Succeed


  • Minimum of three (3) years sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Desire to work from home office


  • Experience in developing, organizing and implementing sales plans.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with customers, management and peers to drive results.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Proven record of being a self-starter working proactively and independently and multi-tasking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to current and potential customers within assigned territory.
  • Previous GE Appliances sales experience and/or appliance/retail sales experience.
  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
