The Challenge

This role will be responsible for Commodity Business Plan/Strategy for switches and sensors and year over year cost reductions within the EMD Sourcing team. Total estimated spend of $20M USD/ 20 suppliers. The role will also support the supply chain operations for pumps and large motors located in NA. This role will report directly to the Director of the EMD Sourcing Team.

The person in this role should have knowledge of procurement and supply chain practices within a manufacturing environment. As the Commodity Buyer, you will drive supplier performance relative to cost, quality, delivery, and be responsible for strategic alignment with key stakeholders (Business Unit Leaders, Quality and Technology.)

What you will Do

  • Responsible for driving sourcing strategies for sensors, switches and EMD Devices.
  • Lead supply chain operations on pumps and motors located in NA.
  • Identify, award, and manage Supplier Partners based on requirements form technology.
  • Support Component BOM/Total Cost analysis, negotiate pricing with suppliers and drive cost savings programs for assigned category.
  • Proactively manage risk requisitions and funds to support supply chain continuity activities
  • Drive the supplier certification process for onboarding new suppliers, including processing of required paperwork, systems compliance, and risk assessment actions.
  • Drive scheduling of assigned category Business Review (BR) meetings and supplier scorecards.
  • Maintain and update Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA) and Approved Vendor Lists for direct material supply base in ERP system to enable appropriate procurement management
  • Manage regular supplier invoice resolution, including interfacing with vendor managed inventory warehouse, accounts payable, and suppliers. 

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of relevant experience within supply chain, program management, commodity management or in a related role involving negotiating, identifying cost reduction opportunities, selecting suppliers and/or implementing contracts
  • Professional oral/written communication
  • Demonstrated team player with an initiative to win

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electromechanical devices.
  • Working knowledge of Sourcing Systems and processes
  • Proven interpersonal and collaboration skills; can interact with a variety of coworkers and business stakeholders, establishing positive professional relationships.
  • Experience New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Continuous improvement mindset, identifies opportunities to improve organization and efficiency of manager and team
