CMM/Scan Operator
The Challenge
The CMM/Scan Operator will be responsible for all aspect of CMM and Scanning of parts, to include scheduling the CMM Lab, preparing of parts to scan, providing fully detailed reports to the team and managing the SPC database. This Role may include aspects of other Quality roles to include foam properties testing, weld analysis or general quality data analysis.
What you will Do
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Percentage of time spent on the responsibilities
- Complete 3D scans as requested / required by engineers and analyst using Both the CMM and the scanner
- Prep parts for scanning, including targeting and spray painting.
- Communicate and work closely with analyst to ensure timely completion of all necessary scans.
- Definition of each scanning project, including scans needed and reports required.
- Obtaining required CAD data form engineer or CREO/Windchill needed to complete analysis.
- Analyzing scan data and prepping reports for engineer.
- Coordination of all projects in the scan lab, including scheduling and report outs.
- Conduct demonstrations for engineers and project a helpful and knowledgeable presence in the lab.
- Support the development of new fixturing and measurement techniques.
- Train engineers and requestors as to the capabilities of the 3D scanning equipment in the scan lab.
- Develop CMM programs
- Measure parts with CMM or Scan equipment
- Help resolve quality fit up issues and issues driving scrap through measuring parts
- Ensure all daily checks are being done
- Assist in all areas of quality as needed including Foam testing, weld analysis and data analysis
What you need to Succeed
Position Requirement
The 3D scan technician will be the primary user of the 3D scanners and CMM in the lab. They will work with the engineer and analyst to create the required scans necessary to complete the analysis. They will need to be familiar with scanning principles, as well as CAD practices, GD&T and metrology. The job will be very hands on, fast paced, and varied from day to day.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3D scanning experience
- Metrology experience, including gage design, CMM programming, Six sigma data analysis.
- Experience with CREO and Windchill helpful.
- Engineering Degree

- 1-2 years minimum experience in CMM

Working Conditions:
- Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Work will be like that of a normal production floor work
- PPE to be worn as given for area working in
- Steel Toes will be required in certain area as well
