Commodity Buyer – Smart Home/IoT - REMOTE
This role will be responsible for Commodity Business Plan/Strategy for directed spend of Displays, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices and year over year cost reductions within the Electronics Sourcing team. The total estimated spend of this area is $30M USD, with about 20 suppliers. This role will report directly to the Director of the Electronics Sourcing Team.
You should have knowledge of procurement and supply chain practices within a manufacturing environment. As the Commodity Buyer, you will drive supplier performance relative to cost, quality, delivery, and be responsible for strategic alignment with key stakeholders (Business Unit Leaders, Quality and Technology).
What you will Do
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving sourcing strategies for Smart home IoT hardware and display technologies.
Collaborate with the electronics commodity management team and the Sourcing Services Group (SSG), and technology/engineering.
Identify, award, and manage Supplier Partners and Contract manufacturer for Smart home & display based on requirements form technology
Support Component BOM/Total Cost analysis, negotiate pricing with suppliers and drive cost savings programs for Smart Home and Displays
Proactively manage risk requisitions and funds to support supply chain continuity activities on related electronics components
Head up the supplier certification process for onboarding new suppliers, including processing of required paperwork, systems compliance, and risk assessment actions
Drive scheduling of electronics supplier Quarterly Business Review (QBR) meetings and supplier scorecards
Maintain and update Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA) and Approved Vendor Lists for direct material supply base in ERP system to enable appropriate procurement management
Manage regular supplier invoice resolution, including interfacing with vendor managed inventory warehouse, accounts payable, and suppliers.
Proactively manage risk requisitions and funds to support supply chain continuity activities
Up to 10% travel required for domestic and/or international travel to affiliate sites and suppliers.
What you need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree, required
3 years of relevant experience within sourcing/procurement commodity management or in a related role involving negotiating, identifying cost reduction opportunities, selecting suppliers and/or implementing contracts, required
Professional oral/written communication
Demonstrated team player with an initiative to win
- Experience with semiconductors or display technologies
- Working knowledge of Sourcing Systems and processes
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills; can interact with a variety of coworkers and business stakeholders, establishing positive professional relationships.
- Experience New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Continuous improvement mindset, identifies opportunities to improve organization and efficiency of manager and team
