The Challenge
This role will be responsible for sourcing of Electronics Contract Manufacturing and year over year cost reductions within the Sourcing team. This role will report directly to the Director of the Electronics.
The person in this role should have significant experience and knowledge of procurement practices for developing commodity strategies, leveraging cost estimating tools and contract negotiations. As the Sr. Commodity Buyer, you will drive supplier performance relative to cost, quality, delivery, and be responsible for strategic alignment with key stakeholders (Business Unit Leaders, Quality and Technology.)
This position will be accountable for supporting and sometimes leading the development of the Commodity Business Plan for Electronics/Contract Manufacturing. And as the Sr. Commodity Buyer will contribute and sometimes head up the Global Commodity Strategy with Haier/Mabe/Candy and Fisher Paykel.
The total spend is $80Million USD across 10 suppliers.
What you will Do
- Define long term sourcing strategy for electronics contract manufacturing
- Capacity planning with key products manufacturers
- Developing and monitoring effective supplier evaluation criteria
- Maintaining quarterly supplier business unit reviews
- Annual cost reduction negotiations
- New Product Introduction sourcing strategy and execution
- Collaborating with the engineering team to align on long term technical goals and incorporation of technology roadmaps into the category strategy/commodity business plan
- Ensuring continuous supply to GE Appliances
What you need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement of electronics components/or semiconductors
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business, or related fields
- Contract management and negotiations skills
- Experience in working with multi-cultural teams
Travel:
- If you are remote, the travel requirements will entail that during the first three (3) months, you would need to travel in to our Louisville, KY headquarters every other week, and then after travel to Louisville, KY once per month
- Up to 20% travel required for domestic and/or international travel to affiliate sites and suppliers
