The Challenge
GE Appliances Finance Team is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager, who uses independent judgment and innovative thinking skills to manage financial reporting and accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have experience working cross functionally with other Finance teams, and have a broad background in accounting and finance principles. This position reports to the Senior Manager – Closing, Reporting, and Accounting Operations and is based at GE Appliances Louisville, KY Headquarters.
What you will Do
Own and manage end-to-end financial reporting process, including preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packages for submission to GE Appliances’ Parent, Haier
Assist in preparation of annual US GAAP financials and footnotes
Perform closing responsibilities for certain estimates and reserves involving various inputs and assumptions, including preparing monthly statement of cash flows
Lead and manage quarterly balance sheet reviews with other Finance teams, functions and legal entities
Perform comprehensive balance sheet analysis including identification of process improvements, operationalizing simplification efforts and working cross functionally with the CFO’s Staff and teams. The goal being driving efficiencies, transparency, consistency, and accountability throughout the processes
Work with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit requests and support external and internal audits
Manage Accounting Analyst who is responsible for monthly close/financial reporting for several business financial line items, including postemployment benefits and commodity hedging & interest rate swap derivatives as well as the Company’s intercompany landscape/transactions with Haier affiliates
Manage a rotation in the Company’s Finance Development Program which has closing/reporting responsibility for several financial line items, focusing primarily on Treasury and Intracompany activities
Provide leadership and coaching to other team members as needed

What you need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Must have an active CPA license
Minimum 5 years of public accounting/corporate accounting experience
Possess strong knowledge of US GAAP
Have solid financial reporting and SOX experience
Strong financial analysis skills
Strong managerial/leadership skills and ability to engage and influence others
Must have strong communication skills and be a self-starter and work independently
Proven ability to work in matrix environment supporting other Finance functions
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with one of the “Big Four” Public Accounting firms strongly preferred
Working knowledge of IFRS and CAS
Proficiency in Oracle, Hyperion
